Devotional: Healed But Broken 💔 In Your Mind 🤔

Empower Her TLC Foundation
There are moments when you realize you’ve survived the worst storms of your life. The pain didn’t destroy you. The betrayal didn’t define you.
The abuse didn’t have the last word. You know deep down that you are healed — but your mind still wrestles with the memories.
Healing does not always mean forgetting. Sometimes the body, spirit, and even your smile look whole, but inside your mind, broken pieces still echo what was lost. Thoughts replay what you endured, and you wonder if you are truly free.
✨ Recently, I went to an Empower Her ladies’ evening on behalf of the TLC Foundation, and it was so powerful. The word I took for myself was this: I am healed but broken in my mind. It brought me to tears because it is so true. We are healed, yet we think about all we faced or went through. That word was for me in this season.
Yes, the “what ifs” come. Yes, I ask questions — because I am human. But God is teaching me that I need to change my mindset and let Him shift it. He gives us new things, hallelujah! But the enemy always tries to come with the old. And sometimes, our biggest enemy is our mind.
📖 “Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.” – Romans 12:2
Every day, God invites us into a process of renewal. It’s not instant — it’s daily bread. As you lean on His promises, He begins to fill the cracks of your thoughts with peace, and He gently replaces lies with His truth.
✨ Reflection:
Your scars prove that you’ve been healed. Your thoughts remind you that you’re still being restored. Don’t despise the process. Healing in the mind takes time, but each day surrendered to God is a step toward wholeness.
🙏 Prayer:
Lord, I thank You for healing my heart and carrying me through battles I thought I’d never survive. But You also see the places in my mind that still feel broken. Renew my thoughts daily with Your Word. Replace fear with peace, doubt with faith, and pain with hope. I pray for those who are struggling in their minds or in their spirit — Jesus, meet them right where they are. I believe that what feels broken will one day be made whole in You. Amen.
